Help raise awareness at Castle Fraser Steam Rally |
|
If you can spare some time to help raise awareness of urological cancers then please come along to the Castle Fraser Steam and Vintage Fair on the 18th & 19th of June where UCAN will have a stand.
We are looking for volunteers to staff the stand between 10:30 and 16:30 on the Saturday and the Sunday.
Visit our list of events and tick the box to show you are able to attend (you'll need to be logged in to do this). If you could leave the times that best suit you or that you are unavailable in the comments section, that would help Alan draw up a rota.
More information on how you can help can be found in this forum thread.
More information about the steam fair can be found here.

Ride the North, 2nd-4th June 2011 |
Ride the North is a cycle challenge in support of the fight against urological cancer. A 220 mile circuit of Scotland's North East completed over three days in June 2011 will raise funds for UCAN, supporting efforts to develop a centre of excellence for care and treatment of patients across the North of Scotland.
This event follows the success of the UCAN MoG-JoG in 2010, but this time the challenge is back on our home patch. If your aspirations for 2011 involve getting fitter, rising to a challenge, raising money for a worthy cause or learning more about what lies down those back-roads of the beautiful North East, then this might just be for you.
To find out more visit www.ucan-ridethenorth.org.
If you'd like to help promote this event, you can download our A4 poster >> ({docs}ridethenorth2011{/docs}), print it out and put it somewhere on display.

The 4th annual UCAN FUN RUN was an amazing success, due to the generousity of all the entrants, supporters and local businesses
The riders assembled at the Pannanich Wells Hotel near Ballater on Sunday 19th September. The day dawned slightly grey and damp, but by the time the entrants had consumed bacon rolls and cups of tea served by proprietor Val Norton and her helpers, the sun was beginning to peek through.
The route of approximately 100 miles, set by Chris & Val Norton, took the riders on lovely quiet side roads out towards Lumphanan, before winding along to the Muggarthaugh Hotel at Tough, where the UCAN fun run was allowed to use their car park for a half-way break.

The MoG-JoG was successfully completed by everyone, although not without some dramas along the way, the most important thing is everyone enjoyed themselves (despite the terrible weather) made new cycling friends and raised lots of money for the charity, in fact the total raised is just short of £34,000!!!
Thank you to everyone who took part and to all their sponsors.
Planning for next years event is underway and information will follow shortly.
