UCAN Stands for Urological CANcers

  • There are five urological cancers: prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular and cancer of the penis. They mainly affect men, although women can suffer from kidney and bladder cancers. Urological cancers are more common than many people realise, and account for 1 in 3 of all cancers in men and 1 in 5 of all cancers in men and women.

    What's the project?

    RobotTheatreUCAN, the North-east's urological cancer charity, is aiming to raise £2.5million by 2013 to add value to the excellent work currently being carried in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by bringing to the North-east of Scotland the most advanced technologies for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), also known as keyhole surgery.

Fairfield raises £5,000 for UCAN in family fun day

Fairfield Energy (Fairfield) held a family fun day to raise thousands of pounds for urological cancer charity UCAN. Musical Treat in Inverurie

Musical Treat in Inverurie The ladies of Hays Court, Inverurie, enjoyed a Jubilee tea party with music by talented keyboard player Ernie Sargent in early June. They raised £100 from the event which they then kindly gave to Ernie to give to a charity of his choice.

In Memory of Gordon Walker

In Memory of Gordon WalkerAberdonian Kevin Walker (pictured) completed in this year’s Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday 27 May in memory of his Dad, Gordon. He ran it in a time of 2 hours and 9 minutes and raised £1,335.80 for UCAN.
