Moira returned to full-time education at the University of Aberdeen in 2002, following a career in the police. She graduated with a BSc Psychology (1st class honours) in 2006 and an MRes Psychology (distinction) in 2007. She then gained funding from UCAN for a 3-year PhD entitled "Using psychological theory to explore patients' treatment choices in the context of urological cancer". Moira's main research interests involve using, and adapting, established theory-based approaches to explore situations where people must choose between behavioural alternatives to give a more complete account of the actual behaviour chosen. Moira is currently in the writing-up year of her PhD.
